Cambridge’s Judge Business School Launches New Entrepreneurship Diploma Program

The Judge Business School at Cambridge University has launched a one-year part-time entrepreneurship diploma program, to debut in September 2011, the Financial Times reports.

Program participants will spend three weeks on the Judge campus over the course of the year and complete an addition 10 hours of online learning each week. An “enterprise project” will be central to each student’s experience in the program, Jo Mills, program director, told the FT. Prospective participants will need to present an idea for the project they want to focus on as part of the admissions interview process.

Designed to build on Judge’s strength in entrepreneurship, the program is targeted toward would-be entrepreneurs seeking to commercialize an idea, serial entrepreneurs looking to study the academic theory behind founding a successful business and “intrapreneurs” working for large organizations. “We felt there was a space for something like this,” Mills told the FT.

Visits by practicing entrepreneurs to share their personal experiences will round out the traditional academic elements of the program, Mills says.
