BusinessWeek Features Clear Admit’s New MBA Planner iPhone App

The Clear Admit MBA Planner, a new iPhone and iPod Touch application released last week, was the subject of a BusinessWeek.com article yesterday focused on the growing number of MBA-related offerings now available in the Apple App Store.

For just $3.99, prospective business school students can purchase the Clear Admit MBA Planner, which sorts through all the top schools’ application requirements and will maintain a list of all deadlines right on their phone.

The application was designed for Clear Admit by Ryan Kaminsky, a programmer and second-year MBA student at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. Kaminsky told BW that he spent nights “waking up in a cold sweat” thinking he’d missed one of the B-school deadlines when he was applying – and thus the idea for the application was born.

Kaminsky spent the summer developing the MBA Planner app, and Clear Admit’s client base provides the perfect target market. Sales since it launched last Monday have been brisk, as the BW article reported.

The Clear Admit MBA Planner app is just one of close to 100 applications related to the MBA now available in the Apple App Store, according to the BW article. Others range from refresher courses on entity structuring to dictionaries of accounting and finance terms. GMAT test preparation firm Veritas Prep also has an application that offers practice test questions designed to help prospective applicants boost their scores on the B-school entrance exam.

According to the BW article, while the Blackberry still may be the phone of choice for the MBA crowd, the iPhone is making inroads with the business set thanks to applications like the Clear Admit MBA Planner.

To download the Clear Admit MBA Planner, view a list of featured schools or just see some screen shots of the app in action, visit the iTunes store.
