In much the same vein as my last post, I recently came across another new organization that will be starting up next year that I would love to join if I weren’t graduating in May. If you’re considering getting your MBA at McCombs, I think you should know about this:
Board Fellows Information Session – Wednesday, April 14 – 5:15-6:15pm – GSB 3.130Board Fellows is a year-long program that places MBA students on the board of a local nonprofit. Participation as a Board Fellow provides the opportunity to:
- Engage with a nonprofit on a strategic level by serving on its board of directors
- Work on special projects for the nonprofit’s board of directors
- Learn about nonprofit management and governance through first hand experiences
- Develop deeper knowledge of specific social issues related to the work of the nonprofit
McCombs is planning to start a Board Fellows program next fall. Come to this information session to learn more about the program and how you can participate. The session will be used to gauge interest in the program and help estimate the number of partner organizations we’ll need. RSVP on the community calendar.
