When you select an MBA program, you are not just choosing your learning environment, but are also committing to becoming part of a community. Each Thursday, we offer a window into life “beyond the MBA classroom” at a top business school.
Although Columbia Business School does not organize any official pre-term trips for students like Kellogg and Chicago Booth both do, the school has recently begun to offer what it calls the Pre-MBA World Tour. Three trips run in parallel throughout June and July, and each includes a visit to five or six countries. Students can join any part of the trip, for any period of time that is convenient. The trips are completely organized by students, rather than by the school, though CBS encourages and supports the initiative.
