Having worked as an Engineer with Siemens industry Inc., I was excited to begin my MBA with the hopes of becoming a well-rounded business leader. And Goizueta was the perfect choice for me for various reasons. Most importantly, I found that it was a program with a lot of heart.
It was time to start the show. For me, school really began a few weeks before classes actually started on August 9th. I met a bunch of my future classmates via the Goizueta Facebook group, and they turned out to be a great set of people: smart, accomplished, worldly-wise and above all, great human beings. By the time it was time to start class, I was excited, and I felt that I was already among friends.
Along with the excitement, however, came a set of apprehensions. For the first time in six years, I realized that I would not be getting a paycheck in my bank account, I would have to tighten my purse strings, and, most importantly, my “Delta SkyMiles” mileage balance would stagnate and eventually drop. And then there was that voice in the back of my mind reminding me that I had been out of school for a long time. Though these anxieties were real enough for the couple of weeks before school, they ceased to exist once I got a taste of Goizueta life. I seamlessly settled into the “Work Hard, Play hard” routine where Goizueta students find time to study, have fun, spend time with our partners and enjoy everything that Goizueta has to offer. It has only been a few weeks, and I cannot wait to see what the remainder of the two years holds.
