The student government presidents at seven U.S. business schools recently gathered to form a new organization, the MBA Peer School Forum. The goal of the incoming and outgoing presidents from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (Wharton Full-Time MBA Profile), University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business (Booth Full-Time MBA Profile), Columbia Business School (Columbia Full-Time MBA Profile), Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management (Kellogg Full-Time MBA Profile), Harvard Business School (Harvard Full-Time MBA Profile), Stanford Business School (Stanford Full-Time MBA Profile), and MIT Sloan School of Management (Sloan Full-Time MBA Profile) is to discuss “common challenges and goals,” according to an e-mail from Wharton spokesperson Peter Winicov.
At the group’s latest conference in April 2010, which Wharton hosted, members signed an official charter. In 2009, Kellogg hosted a meeting of the student presidents that got the ball rolling for the MBA Peer School Forum, according to a press release. At that meeting, the student leaders discussed many issues including the integration of international students, recruiting, and metrics to access faculty quality. Ultimately, the organization aims to help promote collaboration and student-led initiatives among the participating business schools.
