This year’s admitted students’ weekend is going on as we speak, with admitted students from the class of 2012 coming from all around the world to see in person, what life at Tuck is like.

Some of them have already decided that they want to be at Tuck and are here to get a head start on getting to know their future classmates, current Tuckies, and alumni. Some of the admits are weighing their options between different schools and are here to find out whether the place, the people, and the community are things they would like to be associated with for the next two years.

A couple of years back, I was in their shoes, along with a whole host of my classmates, wondering what is in store for me and how things are going to take shape – excited to be admitted, wondering how I will adjust to life as a student, and asking myself what Tuck will be like for me. Well, how has it been for me? If I have to capture the experience in two words, all I’ll say is this: ineffable joy!

One only needs to read past blog posts to see the evolution. And the evolution I talk about is not something unique to me either. It’s true of every single classmate of mine. Together, we have laughed, we have struggled, we have experienced the pain, we have cheered, we have encouraged, we have demanded, we have given, and the sum total of all of the experiences in the last two years has been simply that – ineffable joy.

It’s true the class of 2010 will have graduated in less than two months time, and we are getting ready to disperse to far flung regions of the world, to start our respective careers, to make a difference for ourselves and for the world. That promise, and the seeds of that success were sown two years back, when I, along with my classmates attended the 2008 admitted students’ weekend. And that story will continue to unfold over the next many years as we grow in our careers.

Here’s wishing the admitted students from the class of 2012 the very best as they start figuring out which school fits best for them. Whatever your decision, just believe that the outcome will be nothing but the best. Good luck!
