A Week in the Life of an International Tuck Partner.

Hello readers,
I have a special treat today!
As I have mentioned to some visiting prospective partners, our international contingent seems to have their schedules chockful of various activities at all times. While you might not be able to gain a working visa to gain employment in the States, there are plenty of other acitivies to occupy your two years if you don’t work. In order to provide first-hand perspective on this, I have asked one of my TP friends from South American to describe her busy time here at Tuck!
Enjoy….
My typical day at Sachem Village stars usually by getting up around 7. We carpool with other partners to take the boys to their classes at Tuck. 4 days a week I come to Dartmouth at 8:30 to my beautiful Italian classes. A course I enjoy so much and took just for the pleasure of it.

Actually, I audit different classes every single day of the week, so I stay for some hours at campus. Besides Italian, I am auditing Linguistics and Marketing. In the free hours I have between classes I go to Tuck gym (it’s free :) ) and sometimes I get together with my husband to have lunch or a coffee.

This leaves some hours in the afternoon to study, visit some friends, buy things for the house, practice some sports, and do homework. We have ladies afternoons or nights every other week.

I also enjoy cooking a lot, so sometimes we invite some friends over and have nice, fun dinners.

Of course, there are some activities that Tuck organizes, such as Tucktails (Tuck-cocktails), parties, get togethers, and many other things. During summer we go hiking, canoeing for instance.

During this time of the year, the activities are more indoors, because it’s starting to get cold. So when we get together with friends we have coffee, watch movies, play cards, have drinks eat nice things or just hang out and talk.

When I have the chance, when my husband hard study schedule allows it, during the weekend we try to do something fun together. Just the two of us or maybe with some friends. Such as visiting nice places around NH and VT…Lake Sunapee was a very nice place to go in Summer, the mountains…well, there is a lot to see. And now we are excitedly expecting the ski season. There are plenty of places to go skiing near Hanover.

Thanks so much for your time, friend!
And readers, look forward to more in the “Week-in-the-Life-of” series.
